Role Overview
As part of the Sizewell C project, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team in delivering all financial and contractual aspects of the project. The role will involve assisting with cost planning, contract administration, measurement, valuations, and supporting the management of subcontractor accounts. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a major infrastructure project while developing your skills under the guidance of experienced senior team members.  

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in formulating tender strategies
  • Develop cost planning and project budgeting, including tender analysis, bidding, valuation of variations, cost estimation, subletting, extension of time claims, cash flow monitoring, certifying payment and variations, and final account settlement
  • Responsible for interim payment applications, certifying sub-contractor payment valuation, and final account settlements
  • Provide contractual advice to Project Managers and Engineers
  • Monitor subcontractors performances
  • Assist in resolving disputes between contracting parties
  • Conduct quantity take-offs
  • Maintain awareness of different building contracts conditions currently use

Candidate profile

  • Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (building, construction, civil or structural engineering)
  • A successful first experience in quantity surveying (approximately 1 to 3 years)
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, is required
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application
