The M&E Building Team is seeking to appoint a Project Engineer (PE) to assist with the Construction of the Maintenance and Operation Centres (MOC) Buildings and Surface Buildings associated with the T2D Project.
The Site Engineer will oversee the delivery of Maintenance and Operation Centres and Surface Buildings across the T2D Project, managing engineering interfaces and reporting on progress, cost and compliance.
Reporting to the Building Project Manager, the Project Engineer will see that works are integrated with the broader T2D project and that associated Mechanical and Electrical works are successfully coordinated with the Building works.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide day-to-day interaction with site supervision of M&E Building works and Building subcontractor.
- Lead engagement with subcontractors and field teams through planning, coordination, engineering resolution and execution of works.
- Drive accountability for safety, productivity, and quality across all M&E Building disciplines.
- Reinforce the zero blame culture and T2D Alliance values of Care, Integrity, Accountability and Excellence.
Project Delivery
- Manage and Plan the Construction of Surface Buildings and M&E integration including:
- Electrical infrastructure (substations, switch rooms, HV/LV power, cabling, UPS)
- Mechanical systems (pump stations, HVAC, mechanical plant)
- Coordinate interfaces between M&E packages and civil/structural works to avoid delays
- Oversee testing, commissioning and system handover.
- Manage and drive responses to Technical Queries, Design Proposals and construction changes as they arise.
- Support the Building Project Manager as required.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with WHS legislations and T2D Alliance safety systems.
- Champion a zero-harm culture, conducting audits, inspections and safety briefings.
- Guarantee all installations meet Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and design specifications.
Stakeholder & Interface Management
- Collaborate closely with Alliance Leadership, design engineers, construction managers, and client representatives.
- Support subcontractor coordination meetings and resolve on-site technical issues.
- Support and facilitate commissioning activities
- Support Site Supervision and Senior Project Engineer activities
Planning and Reporting
- Assist with the Development and monitor construction schedules for Building works, proactively addressing risks.
- Contribute regular progress reports, workforce forecasts, and issue escalation to senior leadership.
- Contribute to strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple work zones.
Mission will start on 1st of July 2026 maximum
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree or trade qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Open mind to Learning
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Design and/or Construction management on Tier 1 or equivalent projects. Ideally within tunnelling, on bridges or other large scale infrastructure environments.
- Exposure to early risks identification, supporting resolution of technical challenges, and implementing innovative solutions to maintain productivity.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Commitment to leading a culture of safety and compliance, with a track record of driving WHS excellence.
- Training in project management systems, WHS management, or quality assurance.
