About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PLC Automation Engineer to support the delivery, optimisation and commissioning of automated systems across major industrial projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across the full automation lifecycle — from design through to site commissioning.
- Design, program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
- Develop and modify control philosophies, FDS and I/O schedules
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and site start-up activities
- Interface with electrical, mechanical and commissioning teams
- Diagnose and resolve control system faults on live plant
- Manage vendors, integrators and subcontractors where required
- Ensure systems comply with safety, quality and project standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical, Automation or Control Engineering
- Strong PLC experience (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider or similar)
- Experience with industrial automation, manufacturing, utilities, or infrastructure projects
- Comfortable working on site and in live operational environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, delivery-focused mindset
- Able to communicate clearly with site teams, contractors and clients
- SCADA development experience (Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk, Citect, etc.)
- VSDs, instrumentation and industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- Commissioning experience on large or complex projects
