About the Role

 

The Plant Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical support to ensure the safe, compliant and efficient performance of Surface Fixed Plant and Workshop / Mobile Service Vehicle (MSV) assets. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role supports plant construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and continuous improvement activities across the project.

 
 
Key Responsabilities
 
  • Provide engineering support for surface fixed plant, workshops and MSV infrastructure across construction, commissioning and operational phases.
  • Support the Plant Manager with technical advice, planning and execution of plant-related works and modifications.
  • Review engineering designs, technical documentation and specifications to ensure compliance with operational, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and resolve technical queries, non-conformances and defects associated with plant and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and service providers to ensure works are delivered to scope, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Support shutdown planning and execution, including pre-shutdown scope development, execution support and post-shutdown review.
  • Monitor plant performance, reliability and asset integrity, identifying opportunities for improvement and risk reduction.
  • Maintain accurate engineering and plant documentation including drawings, change records, reports and procedures.
  • Ensure all plant activities comply with WHS, environmental, quality and site standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across plant systems, processes and performance.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

 

 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Construction White Card
  • Driver’s Licence 
  • Strong knowledge of fixed and heavy plant systems, hydraulics, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Proven understanding of WHS and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Competent with MS Office, maintenance management systems, and plant data tracking.
  • Understanding of construction plant and equipment operations, servicing, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple teams.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
