Job Description

  • Review incoming excavation and building design packages to ensure data completeness, model integrity, geometry, quantities and technical specifications are suitable for procurement and construction.
  • Extract and validate Material Take-Offs (MTO), including excavation volumes, ground support systems, rockbolts, steel sets, structural, architectural and MEP quantities.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated 3D design model, incorporating design updates and monitoring design maturity at key project stages.
  • Track quantity changes resulting from design revisions and provide clear variance analyses to Technical, Estimating, Finance, Procurement and Operations teams.
  • Identify design inconsistencies, clashes, missing information and multidisciplinary coordination issues; escalate critical items to the Technical Director.
  • Maintain traceability of design assumptions, model versions, RFIs and design changes, ensuring all information is appropriately documented and controlled.
  • Support the preparation of cost baselines, work-package scopes and procurement requirements through accurate and validated design data.
  • Contribute to the definition of design interfaces, handover points, trade sequencing and construction phasing requirements.
  • Develop 4D model outputs, visualisations and construction sequence simulations to support planning, site access and delivery coordination.
  • Coordinate the integration of survey and as-built information into the project model.
  • Compare as-built conditions and quantities against design and contractual requirements, highlighting discrepancies and supporting remedial-work or change assessments.
  • Work closely with Design, Technical, Construction, Procurement, Planning and Commercial teams to ensure design information is translated into construction-ready deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering, BIM/Digital Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in BIM/VDC, design coordination, digital engineering or model-based quantity management on major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in underground works, tunnelling, rock excavation or ground-support systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to review multidisciplinary design models and identify coordination issues, data gaps and constructability risks.
  • Demonstrated experience in Material Take-Offs, quantity tracking, design change management and model version control.
  • Proficiency with BIM and coordination tools such as Solibri, Navisworks, Revit and/or Civil 3D; experience with 4D planning tools is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing, work packaging, procurement interfaces and as-built data management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and work effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
