Job Description
 

The Assistant Surveyor will assist with field survey activities including taking measurements, recording field data, and preparing survey notes for review. The role supports setting out and verification of construction layout points as directed by the survey lead. Responsibilities include supporting control point management, basic equipment checks, and coordinating field activities with relevant site teams. The incumbent will help compile measurements and drawings inputs, ensuring documentation is complete, traceable, and submitted according to project procedures. The Assistant Surveyor will perform routine calculations and data handling to support ongoing survey work, and flag discrepancies or risks for escalation. Work will be carried out in compliance with site safety requirements and survey quality standards.

 

Requirements
 
  • Diploma-level education in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with surveying field practices such as leveling, distance/angle measurement, and basic setting-out support.
  • Proficiency with common survey data recording methods and basic data processing/plotting workflows. 
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate field logs, and comfort working outdoors on active construction sites. 
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with site personnel and respond to instructions from the survey lead.
  • Ability to operate and maintain survey instruments under supervision and follow calibration/check routines.
  • Compliance mindset with HSE expectations and basic understanding of measurement accuracy and quality control.
