Your Role & Main Responsibilities
We are expanding our sales team in Bern, Switzerland and are looking for a Sales Engineer or Business Development Manager with a strong interest in specialized construction solutions such as post-tensioning, anchoring systems, and structural solutions. Whether you come from a technical background (civil engineering) or from a commercial/BD background within the construction industry, we welcome applications from professionals at different experience levels. You will act as a key interface between our clients, the technical office, and execution teams, supporting both the development of technical solutions and commercial growth activities. This is a position with a workload of 80–100%.
Sales & Business Development:
- Build and manage a portfolio of clients and market segments
- Identify business opportunities, drive business development, and support tendering activities
- Prepare, follow up, and negotiate offers from initial contact through to contract signing
- Actively maintain and develop a network with engineers, companies, and other stakeholders
Technical Coordination:
- Coordinate with the technical office to develop proposals and alternative design solutions
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and partners on technical and commercial matters
- Work closely with execution teams to support project delivery and feedback loops
Your Profile
Education & Experience
We welcome applications from both technical and commercial backgrounds:
For Sales Engineer profiles:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in construction or civil engineering
- Knowledge of post-tensioning or specialized civil works is an advantage
For Business Development Manager profiles:
- Experience in business development, sales, tendering, or commercial roles in construction/engineering
- Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand technical solutions (training will be provided)
For all candidates:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a confident client-facing attitude
- Swiss German as a native language or fluent German; French is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and MS Project; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
