This nationally significant project combines complex structural engineering, heavy lifting operations, temporary works, and high-risk construction activities, making it one of the UK’s most unique construction programmes.

We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of health, safety, and wellbeing across the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer project.

Reporting to the Project Health & Safety Manager and working closely with site management teams, you will help promote a positive safety culture, provide practical health and safety guidance, and support compliance with CDM 2015, UK legislation, and company HSE standards.

This is a site-based role within a technically complex and high-risk construction environment, requiring a visible presence and strong engagement with the workforce and subcontractors.

  • Monitor compliance with project procedures, legal requirements, and company standards.

Site Inspections & Monitoring

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations.
  • Identify hazards and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance relating to work at height, lifting operations, excavations, temporary works, plant and equipment, and other high-risk activities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and follow up on outstanding actions.
  • Support the monitoring of subcontractor health and safety performance.

Risk Management

  • Promote the project's Life-Saving Rules, 5 Lines of Defence, and STOP Work Authority principles.
  • Assist with identifying and assessing project risks and implementing appropriate control measures.
  • Support site teams in maintaining effective risk management processes.

Incident Management

  • Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain incident records and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with RIDDOR reporting requirements where applicable.

Training & Workforce Engagement

  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote positive safety behaviours and workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Support the development of health and safety awareness across project teams.
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Assist in maintaining site emergency arrangements and response procedures.
  • Participate in emergency drills and exercises.
