HR Advisor: Bridgwater 

 

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset, United Kingdom

Contract Type: International Volunteer Program (VIE) – 12 to 24 months

About the Role

 

As part of the Hinkley Point C project, one of Europe's largest infrastructure and nuclear construction projects, Bouygues UK is looking for a motivated and proactive HR Advisor – Early Careers to support the Human Resources team.

 

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain international HR experience within a multicultural and fast-paced environment, with significant exposure to operational teams and key stakeholders across the business.

 

The role includes a significant administrative component, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

 

 

Key Reponsabilities

 

Early Careers Management

  • Support the recruitment and management of graduates, apprentices, interns and placement students.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure a smooth employee experience for all Early Careers populations.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of Early Careers programmes and initiatives.

  • Maintain relationships with universities, schools and external partners when required.

 

HR Administration

  • Manage and maintain employee records and HR databases.

  • Prepare contracts, letters, amendments and other HR documentation.

  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance with company procedures and UK regulations.

  • Produce HR reports, dashboards and key metrics.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.

 

Immigration and Visa Support

  • Support international employees with visa and immigration processes.

  • Liaise with external providers and internal stakeholders regarding work permits and right-to-work requirements.

  • Monitor visa expiry dates and ensure compliance with UK immigration regulations.

 

Audit and Compliance

  • Support internal and external HR audits.

  • Ensure personnel documentation is compliant and up to date.

  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation of HR best practices.

 

Stakeholder Management and Coordination

  • Act as a key point of contact between HR and various operational departments.

  • Work closely with managers and business teams to support workforce planning activities.

  • Coordinate logistics related to onboarding and employee mobility where necessary.

  • Support internal communication initiatives related to Early Careers programmes.

 

Profile

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources.

  • Previous experience in HR through internships, apprenticeships is highly desirable.

  • Strong interest in international HR environments and talent management.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Fluent in English; French would be an advantage.
