We are recruiting: Quantity Surveyor | Civil Works Alliance (CWA)
Location: Avonmouth | Marine and Tunnelling
If you’re a motivated Quantity Surveyor with solid experience managing commercial aspects of building or civil engineering projects, this is your chance to be part of something transformative. I’m looking for a driven professional to join the Commercial team within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), supporting the delivery of the Sizewell C project — a 3.2-gigawatt low-carbon nuclear power station powering around 6 million homes for at least 60 years.
What this role involves:
You’ll manage all costs relating to marine and tunnelling construction activities, support procurement, and engage with our supply chain to ensure value for money without compromising quality or standards. Working closely with senior commercial colleagues, you will take a lead role in:

Measuring, valuing, and recording works with accuracy and confidence

Building estimates from first principles and preparing Bills of Quantities

Planning commercial activities aligned with project programmes

Managing subcontractor agreements and stakeholder relationships

Using ERP systems to collate cost and value information and prepare cost reconciliation statements

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

Maintaining your own personal development and progressing professional membership with RICS, ICES, or CIOB
What we are looking for:

BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience

Experience working on commercial aspects of construction or civil engineering projects

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

A proactive, achievement-oriented mindset, committed to professional growth
