About the Role
The Deputy Electrical Manager is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and supervising all electrical activities related to projects, operations, or facility functions. The role ensures that electrical installations, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations. The Deputy Electrical Manager provides technical leadership to the electrical team, manages resources, supports project delivery, and ensures that electrical systems and works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and oversee all electrical engineering and site electrical activities.
- Manage installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.
- Review electrical drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and material submittals.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution of electrical works.
- Supervise electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure effective performance and productivity.
- Monitor work progress and ensure electrical activities are completed in line with approved schedules and budgets.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with safety requirements, company procedures, and relevant electrical codes and standards.
- Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Support procurement by reviewing electrical material and equipment requirements and ensuring technical suitability.
- Ensure quality control processes, inspections, testing, and documentation are properly completed and maintained.
- Prepare progress reports, technical reports, and updates for management and project stakeholders.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure the electrical team always adheres to HSE requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7–12 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, maintenance, or project execution
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Proven experience in managing electrical systems installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities
- Experience in construction, industrial, infrastructure, commercial, or facility management environments is preferred
- Experience or knowledge in solar and renewable energy projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and engineering practices.
- Good understanding of electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning processes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
