Bouygues UK has a fantastic opportunity available for a Quality Advisor to work on an exciting project in Exeter.

 

The project is a large scale (~£270M) and long term (3-year duration) student accommodation scheme, comprising of 6 new-build blocks and a refurbishment of an existing block.

 

Job Purpose:

 

  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance on site, ensuring all activities meet required regulations and best practices are communicated across the site teams.
  • Support the Quality Manager in matters relating to QC and QA processes. 

 

Key Tasks:

 

  • Undertake regular site-based quality inspections to ensure all works are compliant with approved drawings, specifications, best practices, and programme requirements, with a particular focus on internals, fit-out, and MEP installations.
  • Review and maintain up-to-date quality records, validating that all installations are completed compliantly and documented accurately.
  • Participate in quality launch meetings to understand project requirements and quality expectations.
  • Contribute at project setup by identifying specific QC and compliance needs for each package.
  • Take part in risk analysis with the team.
  • Monitor and close out actions from QC reports, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
  • Analyse QC data to recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Immediately report and escalate any non-compliance.
  • Support the site team to implement quality and compliance strategies.
  • Promote awareness of compliance and quality through team workshops and training.
  • Advise on adequacy of quality resources on site.
  • Share best practice through joint inspections and mentoring.
  • Liaise with external parties on QC matters as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including scorecards and performance tracking.
  • Advise teams on lessons learned and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.

 

About You

 

  • Quality experience in construction.
  • Relevant construction qualifications.
  • Strong internals, MEP, and fit-out background.
  • Ability to read drawings and assess compliance.
  • Experience in quality risk identification and management.
  • Knowledge of building techniques and best practice.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills.
