Surveyors & Survey Data Management (12d) Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project – Australia

The Project

A consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to deliver South Australia’s largest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North–South Corridor, completing a continuous 78km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway and leaving a long-term legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project includes two major tunnels, extensive surface works, road and bridge construction, services buildings, and complex mechanical, electrical, and digital infrastructure, with the full corridor scheduled to open to traffic in 2031.

The Alliance is committed to supporting local employment, Aboriginal participation, apprenticeships, and trainees, while also drawing on international expertise where skills and experience are highly transferable to a project of this scale.

The Opportunity

The Survey Team is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Surveyors and Survey Data Managers with strong 12d capability to support the accurate delivery of tunnelling, surface, and building works across the T2D Project.

These roles are critical to ensuring spatial data integrity, survey control, modelling accuracy, and seamless coordination between field, design, and digital engineering teams.

Roles of Interest

EOIs are invited from candidates with experience aligned to the following positions:

• Survey Engineer / Engineering Surveyor

• Survey Data Manager (12d)

Appointments will be aligned to project needs and individual capability.

Scope of Works

Depending on role and experience, responsibilities may include:

• Establishing and maintaining survey control networks for major infrastructure construction

• Delivering precise set-out, as-built, and quality assurance surveys

• Managing, validating, and maintaining 12d models and datasets within project systems (including Synergy or equivalent)

• Pavement, drainage, and stormwater modelling to support construction delivery

• Preparation and management of WorksManager guidance files for field execution

• Volume calculations, linear meterage, and production reporting

• Collaboration with survey, construction, design, and digital engineering teams to ensure accurate and accessible spatial data

• Maintaining survey standards, documentation, and compliance with safety and quality requirements

These roles will work across tunnelling, surface, and building scopes within the broader T2D delivery program .

Candidate Profile

We are interested in professionals who demonstrate:

• Proven experience in surveying or survey data management on major infrastructure or construction projects

• Strong proficiency in 12d (essential)

• Diploma or degree in Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Sound understanding of survey control, CAD/BIM environments, and digital engineering workflows

• High attention to detail and a methodical approach to data accuracy

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in site and office environments

Experience with utility data, asset data, BIM, or 3D scanning is desirable.

International Experience

Given the systems and methodologies in use on the T2D Project, this Expression of Interest will be particularly relevant to professionals with UK-based major infrastructure surveying experience, especially those with strong 12d capability, who are open to working internationally or relocating to Australia. Comparable international experience will be considered highly transferable.
