The Procurement function at Bouygues Construction is central to the economic, environmental and social performance of our projects, and is undergoing a process of profound transformation.

 

Reporting to the Head of Procurement at Bouygues Construction and the Deputy Managing Director of Bouygues Bâtiment International (BBI), you will be a member of the Bouygues Construction & BBI Procurement Executive Committees.

You will be responsible for a procurement portfolio of approximately €2.6 billion per year (purchases of supplies and subcontracting), and will lead a team of around 100 staff based in countries where the company has a long-term presence or on major projects.

You will define and implement BBI’s procurement strategy to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, availability, risk management and compliance for the goods, equipment, materials and services required to deliver international building construction projects.

You will develop procurement maturity within this scope and ensure the optimisation of the total cost of ownership, whilst securing the supply chain and contributing to the Group’s financial and operational performance.

 

Key Responsibilites

 

PURCHASING PERFORMANCE

  • Develop the purchasing strategy in collaboration with BBI’s Executive Committee
  • Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors for BBI
  • Ensure the roll-out of procurement roadmaps with the support of Category Managers
  • Develop and implement a category-based procurement approach by defining strategic priorities with the BBI Executive Committee
  • Lead segmentation and differentiated strategies for each key product and service family
  • Define and monitor procurement performance indicators and identify opportunities for optimisation,
  • Ensure the consolidation of quarterly reporting to senior management to provide a clear overview of procurement performance,

 

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE & TRANSACTIONAL EFFICIENCY

  • Develop and maintain clear, standardised frameworks and processes aligned with business needs (S2C, P2P, SRM, etc.),
  • Enhance the efficiency of procurement operations by adhering to best practice, digitalisation, simplification and the automation of transactional processes,

 

MANAGEMENT & TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Lead a team of approximately 100 staff
  • Unite teams around the BYCN Procurement network
  • Establish an agile and collaborative organisation

 

Required Profile

 

  • At least 15 years’ experience in procurement management within the civil engineering, construction or industrial sectors, in an international, multi-site environment
  • Experience in managing large volumes of procurement and leading large teams
  • Excellent skills in procurement strategy, negotiation and project management
  • Change leadership and change management
  • Strong leadership, with the ability to persuade and gain buy-in
  • Big-picture thinking, solution-oriented and results-driven
  • Strong communication, persuasion and innovation skills
  • Ability to manage and unite multidisciplinary and international teams, and to develop and motivate staff
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Willingness to undertake frequent international travel
