I am thrilled to share an exciting opportunity to be part of a monumental project that will shape the UK's energy future. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), we are seeking a talented Estimator to support the development of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station that will generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

What Will You Do?

  • Feed into the Lead Estimator and the Head of Estimating to ensure consistency in our approach.
  • Produce various estimating documentation that can be assured both internally and externally.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the estimating team.
  • Support estimates in accordance with Sizewell C’s policies and procedures.
  • Review drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and support the development of risk evaluations.
  • Liaise with the project team and supply chain to understand methodologies and principles proposed.
  • Develop pricing for labour, plant material, and subcontracts within the Contractor’s Estimating Software Candy.
  • Produce quantity take-offs and compile elementary bills for pricing.
  • Prepare supplier and sub-contractor enquiries and compile graphics and text for tender proposals.
  • Work within various electronic portals to submit and retrieve information and support package handovers to operations.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Proficiency in Excel and similar software.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of written English and mathematics.
  • Experience with Candy Estimating Software, RIB Cost X Quantification & Estimating Software, and AACE principles of Estimating Class and associated maturity would be beneficial.
