Sizewell C is one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure and energy projects. The programme will deliver a new 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station in Suffolk, providing reliable low-carbon electricity for approximately six million homes and supporting the UK’s long-term energy security.
We are looking for an experienced Programme Integrator / Planner to join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), supporting the delivery of the CWA-wide Construction Services programme at Sizewell C.
This role will be central to ensuring effective integration and coordination across preconstruction, Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), readiness, engineering, construction delivery, commercial and logistics teams.
Working across multiple disciplines and project interfaces, you will help ensure that activities are properly planned, sequenced and coordinated, with scope, dependencies, constraints and readiness requirements clearly understood before work is released for execution.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a major national infrastructure programme, helping establish the coordination, planning and governance processes required to support safe, predictable and efficient construction.
The Role
As Programme Integrator / Planner, you will act as a central coordination point across Construction Services, ensuring that programme-wide activities, interfaces and dependencies are effectively integrated from preconstruction through to construction delivery.
You will work closely with planning, engineering, construction, AWP, readiness, commercial and logistics teams to develop and maintain integrated plans, coordinate Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and support the transition of planned activities into execution.
A key part of the role will be identifying and managing constraints, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies that could affect programme performance, ensuring that potential issues are visible, assigned and resolved in a timely manner.
You will also coordinate readiness requirements, monitor progress against key milestones and provide clear, traceable reporting to support project governance and informed decision-making.
The role will require a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement, information management and continuous improvement, ensuring that planning and integration processes remain aligned with the evolving needs of the project and support effective delivery across the CWA.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and integrate programme-wide activities across Construction Services, ensuring alignment between preconstruction, engineering, AWP, readiness, construction delivery, commercial and logistics functions;
- Develop, maintain and monitor integrated programme plans, ensuring that activities, milestones, dependencies and interfaces are clearly identified and coordinated;
- Support the development, coordination and implementation of Construction Work Packages (CWPs), ensuring that scope, sequencing, interfaces, deliverables and responsibilities are clearly defined;
- Work closely with AWP teams to align engineering deliverables, procurement, materials availability, construction planning and work package development;
- Identify, track and manage programme constraints, assumptions, risks, opportunities and interdependencies, coordinating appropriate mitigation and resolution actions;
- Coordinate construction readiness activities, ensuring that required information, resources, materials, access, permits and other prerequisites are appropriately considered within plans and work packages;
- Support readiness assessments, launch reviews and mobilisation reviews to verify that activities are sufficiently prepared for safe and effective execution;
- Monitor progress against programme milestones, identify emerging delays or conflicts, and work with relevant stakeholders to develop recovery actions and maintain delivery priorities;
- Facilitate coordination meetings and integration reviews, ensuring that key interfaces, decisions, actions and outstanding constraints are clearly documented and followed through to resolution;
- Produce and maintain programme integration reports, readiness dashboards, constraint registers and associated management information to support governance and project decision-making;
- Ensure that programme information, assumptions, dependencies and decisions are recorded accurately, consistently and in a traceable manner;
- Support effective communication between engineering, planning, construction, procurement, commercial, logistics and supply chain teams;
- Identify opportunities to improve planning, work packaging, readiness coordination and programme integration processes;
- Capture lessons learned and promote the consistent application of best practices across Construction Services; and
- Support the effective transition from preconstruction and planning into construction execution, ensuring continuity of information, alignment of priorities and visibility of outstanding actions.
Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in programme integration, project planning, coordination or project controls within construction, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects;
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and integrating activities across engineering, planning, procurement, logistics and construction functions;
- A sound understanding of construction planning, sequencing, dependencies and the coordination of activities from preconstruction through to delivery;
- Experience identifying and managing programme constraints, risks, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies;
- Familiarity with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and the coordination of construction readiness requirements;
- Experience developing, maintaining and monitoring integrated plans, progress reports, dashboards and management information;
- The ability to analyse programme information, identify potential delivery issues and support the development of practical mitigation and recovery measures;
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate stakeholders and maintain accurate records of actions and decisions;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to facilitate alignment across multidisciplinary teams and organisational interfaces;
- Experience supporting project governance, coordination meetings, readiness reviews and structured reporting processes;
- A proactive and structured approach to problem-solving, with a strong focus on programme performance and delivery readiness;
- A degree-level qualification in construction management, engineering, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience; and
- The ability to work effectively within a complex, fast-paced and collaborative project environment.
Desirable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be particularly advantageous:
- Nuclear, energy or other highly regulated infrastructure projects;
- Major civil engineering, construction or large-scale infrastructure programmes;
- Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodologies and the development and management of Construction Work Packages;
- Construction readiness planning, work release processes and mobilisation reviews;
- Integrated programme planning, project controls and management reporting;
- Planning and coordination of interfaces between design, engineering, procurement, logistics and construction;
- Constraint management, risk and opportunity management, and structured action tracking;
- Project governance and reporting within an alliance, joint venture or collaborative contracting environment;
- Planning and reporting tools, dashboards and data visualisation platforms used to monitor programme performance;
- Professional membership of a recognised institution, such as APM, CIOB or ICE; and
- A recognised project management qualification, such as APM PMQ or PRINCE2.
