The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) are recruiting a Quality Engineer based in Suffolk — we’re looking for a QA/QC Engineer to join our Quality Team and help deliver the Sizewell C project to the highest standards.
This isn’t just any construction project. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station, generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and playing a vital role in the UK’s energy future for at least 60 years. By joining us, you’ll be part of a team ensuring everything we build meets rigorous quality and regulatory standards, supporting a project that truly matters.
In this role, you’ll:

Assist in preparing and maintaining quality plans, procedures, and inspection/test plans aligned with project and regulatory requirements

Conduct internal audits and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure full compliance and quality governance

Perform site inspections and surveillance to verify that works meet approved specifications and quality standards

Manage non-conformance reporting and corrective actions in collaboration with delivery teams and suppliers

Support quality readiness reviews and facilitate external audits for ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards

Collaborate with digital teams to embed QA processes into digital tools and support training to raise quality awareness
We’re looking for someone with:

A degree in engineering or science and preferably experience working on construction projects

Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and technical standards

ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor certification (or equivalent)

Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyse and evaluate complex information
-
A proactive, practical approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills

The ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and add value to a dynamic team
