Hello, I'm thrilled to share an opportunity to become part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) team as a Quantity Surveyor on the Sizewell C project. This groundbreaking initiative is set to deliver 3.2 gigawatts of low-carbon electricity, powering around 6 million homes and playing a pivotal role in securing our energy future.

 

About the Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage costs related to building and civil engineering projects, supporting senior members of the commercial team while taking charge of procuring and managing our supply chain. Your expertise will ensure value for money and adherence to the highest standards and quality for our Customers. Ideally, you will be chartered or in the final stages of achieving membership with RICS, ICES, or CIOB.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Adhere to company governance standards, ensuring compliance with GMCEs, BMS, and other protocols.
  • Systematically order information and check data to facilitate analytical thinking and decision-making.
  • Measure, record, and value work in accordance with procedures, interpreting specifications and drawings.
  • Build estimates from first principles, translating measurements into Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Rates.
  • Review section programmes of work, planning commercial activities to align with project requirements.
  • Use the company’s ERP system for cost and value information collation and preparation of cost reconciliation statements.
  • Specify procurement requirements, documenting information for stakeholder management.
  • Engage in customer and stakeholder management, ensuring effective commercial management.
  • Support the development of less experienced team members and maintain a Personal Development Plan.

 

Your Expertise and Experience:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a focus on achieving results.
  • Previous commercial work experience and industry knowledge.
