VSL's business is based on four areas of expertise:
· Structural systems and technologies

VSL has 4,000 employees at 25 locations worldwide (Asia and Oceania, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Canada).

Project

Sizewell C is at the heart of the UK’s clean energy revolution. This landmark nuclear power station in Suffolk will provide low-carbon electricity for millions of homes and play a vital role in achieving the UK’s net zero targets. Supported by EDF and the UK Government, Sizewell C is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver sustainable energy infrastructure at scale.

Within the VSL Sub-Alliance, we are responsible for a range of specialist ground engineering works, including deep soil mixing, plastic cut-off walls, embankments, and load transfer platforms — all of which form essential enabling works for the main power station.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Workforce Administrator to join VSL’s team at Sizewell C. In this role, you will provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure accurate workforce data management, smooth mobilisation of staff and subcontractors, and strong coordination between VSL, the supply chain, and project stakeholders.

This is a varied role that requires attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage workforce information in a fast-paced project environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that VSL continues to meet its commitments to the client, the alliance, and the local community.

Main Responsibilities

Workforce Coordination

  • Maintain up-to-date records of VSL’s workforce, including compliance documentation, training certificates, and contracts.

  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation processes, ensuring all staff and subcontractors are cleared for site access.

  • Monitor and record workforce movements in line with project requirements.

Recruitment & Resourcing Support

  • Assist with the shortlisting and administration of candidates sourced through the SZC Jobs Service.

  • Coordinate with colleges, training providers, and community partners to promote opportunities and support local recruitment initiatives.

  • Provide administrative support for workforce inductions and training sessions.

Data & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain workforce reports, ensuring data is accurate for client and alliance submissions.

  • Support internal and external audits by keeping records organised and accessible.

  • Contribute to monitoring KPIs linked to local labour, apprenticeships, and workforce diversity.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as an administrative point of contact for workforce-related queries within VSL.

  • Liaise with supply chain partners and alliance colleagues to ensure workforce processes are aligned.

  • Support engagement activities such as job fairs, community events, and workforce briefings.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience in workforce administration, HR coordination, or recruitment support within construction or a related sector.

  • Familiarity with workforce databases or HR systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors) is desirable.

  • Experience in high-volume data management and reporting.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and confident with digital record-keeping systems.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Accurate, methodical, and reliable in handling sensitive information.

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communicator with a professional and approachable manner.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Enthusiastic about contributing to workforce development and local employment initiatives.

Why Work With Us?

  • Meaningful Impact: Support the mobilisation and development of the workforce on one of the UK’s most important clean energy projects.

  • Career Growth: Opportunities to build your career in workforce management, HR, or recruitment within VSL and the wider Bouygues group.
