We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) as we support the delivery of Sizewell C — a landmark project set to power around 6 million homes with low-carbon electricity for the next 60 years.

We’re looking for a Development Consent Order (DCO) Specialist to join our London-based team, with occasional visits to Suffolk. In this role, you’ll provide expert advice and guidance on DCO compliance, ensuring all consenting and permitting requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with operational teams, leadership, regulators, and supply chain partners to manage risks, deliver effective compliance assurance, and support Sizewell C’s construction programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on environmental and legal compliance related to the DCO and associated permits

  • Reviewing work packages and compliance matrices to identify risks and opportunities

  • Coordinating with SZC and supply chain to secure and maintain required consents

  • Developing and updating Compliance and Commitment Plans to monitor adherence

  • Managing stakeholder relationships, including regulators and local communities

  • Investigating non-compliance incidents and implementing corrective measures

  • Delivering training and supporting audit and assurance activities

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience working with Development Consent Orders and regulatory frameworks

  • Strong understanding of construction programmes and scheduling

  • Degree-level education in Environmental Management, Engineering, Town Planning or related field

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively

  • Practical experience in compliance management and reporting

  • Flexibility to travel and a full UK driving licence

If you’re passionate about environmental compliance within a major infrastructure project and want to contribute to the UK’s energy future, this is your chance to join a dynamic team driving real impact.
