Specialized in civil engineering and engineering structures, Bouygues Travaux Publics is one of the world leaders in the fields of land use planning and sustainable infrastructure construction. Bouygues Travaux Publics is committed to diversity and is open to all talents.
As we prepare to deliver one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes – the construction of Sizewell C, a new 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station – I’m looking for an experienced and driven Deputy Head of Risk Management to join our Risk function within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA).
Sizewell C will supply low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for the next 60 years. As part of the CWA, you’ll be at the forefront of this historic project, shaping the way we identify, manage, and mitigate risk across a complex, multi-billion-pound civil engineering programme.
What the Role Involves
This is a senior-level opportunity where you'll be responsible for leading a team of risk professionals, providing expert risk management services across the CWA. You'll also act as a key advisor to the PMO and Head of Risk, helping ensure risks are not only identified but actively managed to reduce exposure and deliver long-term value.
You’ll:
-
Oversee the successful delivery of risk services across all sections and functions of the CWA
-
Support the ongoing development and delivery of our Risk Management Plan
-
Mentor and line-manage a team of risk analysts and managers
-
Lead the implementation of best-practice risk frameworks and ensure alignment with wider project governance
-
Facilitate workshops to identify threats, opportunities, and critical assumptions
-
Deliver Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) – both schedule (QSRA) and cost (QCRA)
-
Act as a senior voice within the PMO, supporting decision-making and strategic planning
-
Deputise for the Head of Risk as required
What You’ll Need
We’re looking for someone with a blend of technical capability, leadership skill, and stakeholder confidence – someone who can drive both process and people to deliver real impact.
You should bring:
-
Strong experience delivering risk management on major capital/infrastructure projects
-
A background in Quantitative Risk Analysis using tools such as PRA, @Risk or Safran Risk
-
Hands-on experience with web-based risk tools like ARM or Xactium
-
A sound understanding of project delivery functions such as planning, estimating and commercial controls
-
A degree in a relevant technical or management field – or equivalent experience in high-value risk delivery roles
-
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
Whether you're ready to step into a deputy leadership role or looking for your next challenge in a truly meaningful project environment, this is your opportunity to make a measurable difference to the UK's clean energy future.
