Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our Core Business team in London. Working closely with Business Development, Methods, and Cost Control, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting tenders, providing feasibility advice, and developing competitive commercial strategies that win work and deliver value.
As an Estimator, you will play a central role in pricing projects, engaging with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting project managers with robust cost and contractual advice. Main Responsibilities
Tendering & Estimating:

Prepare and submit competitive tenders from pre-bid through to handover.

Review tender documentation and provide detailed feasibility advice.

Develop bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and detailed proposals in line with client specifications.

Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring value for money and compliance.
Commercial Support:

Provide advice to project managers and engineers on contractual claims and cost management.

Support interim payment applications, subcontractor payments, and final account settlements.

Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve contractual disputes.
Strategic Input:

Contribute to cost-effective solutions and innovative estimating approaches.

Participate in bid negotiations and support business development initiatives.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities and cultivate client relationships.
Compliance & Standards:

Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

Maintain awareness of current building contracts and industry best practice.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:

Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience in estimating, QS, or related roles.

Strong understanding of civil and structural repair works.
Technical Skills:

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.

Ability to develop detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.

Proficiency in IT tools and estimating systems (professional qualifications advantageous).
