We are recruiting for an experienced IT Solution Architect to join the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), supporting the delivery of Sizewell C—a 3.2-gigawatt low-carbon nuclear power station set to power around 6 million homes with clean, reliable energy for at least 60 years.
In this technically challenging role, you will work within the Alliance IT Team reporting to the IT Enterprise Architect, responsible for designing and deploying scalable, secure cloud-based architectures across multiple platforms. Your expertise will drive the validation and adoption of robust, enterprise-grade solutions aligned with stringent security protocols and compliance frameworks.
You’ll provide architectural leadership across complex, multi-partner environments, collaborating closely with partner IT teams to ensure solution integrity, alignment with business objectives, and delivery milestones are met. This role demands deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies, cloud services, network infrastructure, and strong capability in risk assessment and mitigation related to data security and system architecture.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable, secure cloud-based IT architectures across hybrid environments.

Validate and deploy enterprise IT solutions that meet regulatory and security standards.

Lead technical solution design, providing guidance to project teams and partner IT functions.

Collaborate with stakeholders across the Alliance to ensure alignment of IT strategy and delivery.

Assess new technologies for integration potential and business value within the Sizewell C programme.

Oversee risk identification and mitigation in relation to IT infrastructure and data security.

Drive continuous improvement in IT processes, documentation, and governance compliance.

Maintain clear communication channels between IT and business units to support project objectives.
Essential Competencies:

Proven expertise in designing and deploying Microsoft-centric enterprise architectures.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and hybrid infrastructure design.

In-depth understanding of IT security standards, compliance, and risk management frameworks.

Experience leading complex IT projects within multi-stakeholder environments or joint ventures.

Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to influence technical decisions and strategic planning.

Ability to work effectively across governance structures and support business stakeholders in IT delivery.

Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of mentoring junior colleagues and fostering collaboration.
