We are seeking a proactive and experienced Plant Advisor to join our Plant Department team. You will be responsible for overseeing the coordination, allocation, and management of plant and equipment across a range of construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a pivotal role in supporting project delivery through efficient plant operations, effective supplier management, and the introduction of innovative equipment solutions.

 

Job Overview

In this role you will be responsible for coordinating the hiring, allocation, and effective management of plant and equipment for the business. You will be involved with strategic planning, supplier management, innovative equipment solutions, and ensuring compliance with company standards for safety and efficiency.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in plant/equipment coordination within construction or engineering sectors
  • Strong knowledge of plant planning, supply chain management, and equipment maintenance
  • Proven negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant technical or engineering qualification (preferred)
  • Demonstrable history in a similar plant advisory, hire desk, or equipment management role
  • Ability to conduct detailed site surveys and assess equipment needs
  • Experience in contract administration and fostering effective supplier relationships
  • Strong commitment to health and safety standards, particularly in installation/dismantling activities
  • Proactive and innovate approach to problem solving

 

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinated the hiring and allocation of plant and equipment across multiple project sites, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization.

Oversaw all aspects of plant planning, including booking, transport management, scheduling servicing and repairs, and promptly escalating operational issues to site and plant management.

Negotiated and managed annual framework agreements with suppliers, achieving company procurement targets and optimizing cost-efficiency.

Researched, evaluated, and introduced innovative plant and equipment solutions to enhance operational support for current and future projects.

Conducted comprehensive site surveys with management teams to assess project-specific requirements and ensure equipment compliance and suitability.

Administered the supply chain by adhering to company procedures, processing site invoices, and efficiently resolving discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers.

Supervised and ensured the safe installation and dismantling of mast-climbers and hoists throughout all phases of project erection and deconstruction, prioritizing safety and compliance.
