We are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead growth across our Repairs and Preservation business line (RPBL). This is a strategic commercial role centred on expanding VSL’s presence across multiple sectors including infrastructure, defence, utilities, ports, and other asset-intensive industries.

We are a well-established contracting company specializing in post-tensioning, infrastructure construction, and the repair and preservation of existing assets. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our repair and preservation projects. This individual will be responsible for managing and executing diverse repair and strengthening projects, ensuring successful project delivery within schedule, budget, and quality parameters.

 

Job Summary:

As the Project Manager for repair and preservation, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects aimed at restoring and strengthening existing structures. You will be responsible for coordinating with clients, managing project teams, overseeing budget and resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in successfully delivering repair and strengthening projects across various types of structures.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of client requirements, project scope, and objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and engineers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish clear project deliverables and monitor progress.

 

Project Execution and Management:

  • Lead project teams, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, identify and resolve issues, and provide status updates.
  • Manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.

 

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure projects meet industry standards.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments to verify work quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with quality control personnel to perform necessary tests and inspections.

 

Financial Management:

  • Develop project budgets and closely monitor project costs.
  • Control project expenses and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Review and approve project-related invoices, change orders, and variations.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.

 

Client Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
  • Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
  • Address client concerns, resolve issues, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services or future collaborations with clients.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing repair and strengthening projects across diverse structures (e.g., bridges, buildings, infrastructure, industrial, marine works,…).
  • In-depth knowledge of repair techniques, strengthening methods, and industry best practices.
  • Experimented in performing site condition assessment and prepare report.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, processes, and tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Professional certifications (such as PMP) are desirable.
