At Bouygues we require an experienced Senior Methods Engineer as we are expanding our Methods team.  In this role you will be involved at both the pre-construction and production phases. You will provide crucial technical support to project and site teams, ensuring optimal sequencing, productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness. In this role you will be offered a balanced mix of technical challenges in the office and an active presence on site, combining engineering knowledge with a practical construction perspective and delivering tangible results across a variety of projects.

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
  • Significant experience as a Methods Engineer, Temporary Works Engineer, or experienced Site Engineer with expertise in structural frame construction (specifically Concrete)
  • You experience should cover projects such as hospitals, educational facilities, residential, or data centres
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD (recent versions)
  • Strong knowledge of construction planning, sequencing, and site logistics
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Innovative mindset with a drive to continuous improvement and see the broader picture
  • Rigorous attention to safety and quality standards
  • As there will be continuous collaboration  with the production team excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to continuously learn and develop
  • Experience using Synchro (4D planning) would be advantageous

 

Role Summary:

There is a particular focus on concrete frame works, which are at the core of Bouygues’ business when delivered in self-production. Assisting the Production teams by proposing solutions for project delivery: how it is executed, with whom, with which equipment and materials, and in what timing and sequence. All solutions must comply with the safety and quality criteria of the project and company, the overall construction program, and the technical requirements of the structure, while always striving for the most economical approach.

 

Some Key Responsibilities:

The role will cover the Commercial and Construction phases.

  • Carry out buildability reviews, phasing, and decanting studies to optimize construction sequence
  • Develop and document construction sequencing, method of construction, and site logistics strategies
  • Design site installation setup, identify needs for temporary works, lifting solutions, and major equipment planning, ensuring efficient project mobilization
  • Provide input into the outline construction programme, focusing particularly on structural and concrete works
  • Identify major site planning risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Validate and refine methods developed at the preconstruction stage, adapting to actual site and project constraints
  • Conduct preliminary studies for structural works, including options for plant, equipment, and resource allocations
  • Develop the structural frame construction programme and monitor the progress on site, ensuring timely and quality delivery
