Specialized in civil engineering and engineering structures, Bouygues Travaux Publics is one of the world leaders in the fields of land use planning and sustainable infrastructure construction. Bouygues Travaux Publics is committed to diversity and is open to all talents.

We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our Pre-Construction team supporting the Sizewell C (SZC) Project, one of the most complex and nationally significant infrastructure projects in the UK.

As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), you’ll play a vital role in producing compelling and compliant technical submissions that shape the engineering solutions, methods, programme, and Target Outturn Cost (TOC) of the project. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—engineering, operations, HSES, and commercial—translating complex technical content into structured, accurate, and high-quality written deliverables.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the Technical Writing team, providing oversight, direction, and mentoring

  • Support development of detailed TOC submissions including technical, pricing, and programme components

  • Translate technical discussions, meetings, and reviews into clear, structured proposal content

  • Collaborate with discipline leads to capture accurate input across HSES, sustainability, engineering, and programme

  • Review and refine technical responses to client questions, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives

  • Coordinate internal reviews and lessons learned workshops post-submission to drive process improvements

  • Proactively manage documentation, content libraries, CVs, case studies, and supporting materials for future use

  • Contribute to the streamlining and optimisation of the TOC submission process

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience writing for major construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an excellent grasp of technical English

  • A solid understanding of civil engineering or complex infrastructure projects

  • Ability to manage priorities, coordinate team workload, and meet critical deadlines

  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to engage with engineers, planners, and senior stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience working on major pre-construction programmes or TOC submissions

  • Some knowledge of construction safety standards and UK HSE legislation

  • Degree in Engineering, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field

Why Join Us?

  • Collaborate with some of the UK’s top engineering minds

  • Shape the pre-construction success of a low-carbon, nuclear-powered future

  • Join a growing team where your input has real impact on strategy, delivery, and innovation
