BYCA is encouraging individuals with experience as an Environment Coordinator to complete an Expression Of Interest for a potential construction project in Muswellbrook, NSW. 

 

About the Role:

To oversee and support environment and compliance for the construction project in Muswellbrook, NSW, ensuring all activites meet regulatory requirements and promote sustainable practices. The Environment Coordinator will work closely with project teams to monitor environmental performane, careful planning, recording keeping and drive continous improvement. 

 

Key Responsibilies

  • Develop, maintain and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans and sub plans.
  • Conduct environmental audits and deliver awareness training. Develop and implementation the Projects Environmental Management Systems, associated management plans and any required environmental approvals
  • Ensure environmental compliance, inspections and reporting are conducted in accordance with our management systems, and relevant State and Commonwealth legislation and Client requirements.
  • Establish waste management, water conservation, and dust control programs.
  • Develop plans for chemical management and environmental incident response.
  • Establish and maintain a harmonious client-contractor relationship
  • Lead liaison with regulatory Environmental agencies and authorities
  • Report and manage environmental incidents to identify root causes, and non-conformances, with corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences

 

Qualifications and Expereince

  • Bachelor’s degree Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in HSE leadership roles.
  • A methodical approach and have a high attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to respond quickly, investigate and provide solutions to environmental issues and problems proactively as they arise.
  • Hands-on experience in managing environmental matters on construction projects or mines.

We’re looking for a proactive leader with strong influencing skills and a passion for creating a positive safety and environmental culture. You should be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Your expertise in ecology, risk management, erosion and sediment control and environmental practices, and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments will be crucial in this role.
