About the Role 

The Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing all day-to-day construction, electrical, and commissioning activities at the solar farm project site. The role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, to the required quality standards, and in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, grid connection requirements, and relevant regulatory obligations. As the primary on-site leader, the Superintendent coordinates civil, mechanical, electrical, and high-voltage subcontractors; manages labour, materials, equipment, deliveries, and site logistics; and works closely with the Project Manager, engineers, network representatives, and client stakeholders throughout construction, energisation, commissioning, and project handover.

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and supervise all on-site solar farm construction activities from mobilisation through to commissioning, energisation, completion, and handover.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce the project construction schedule, including short-term look-ahead plans and daily work priorities.
• Coordinate civil, piling, mechanical, electrical, high-voltage, SCADA, communications, and commissioning subcontractors.
• Manage the installation of solar PV modules, mounting structures, trackers, inverters, DC and AC cabling, transformers, switchgear, substations, and associated balance-of-plant infrastructure.
• Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, electrical standards, grid connection requirements, and applicable legislation.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce company safety procedures, electrical safety requirements, high-voltage protocols, and regulatory obligations.
• Monitor workforce productivity and identify risks or constraints that may affect safety, schedule, quality, cost, or commissioning outcomes.
• Review construction and electrical drawings to identify constructability, access, sequencing, installation, and commissioning concerns.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, quality-control checks, and hold points with engineers, consultants, network representatives, local authorities, and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, site diaries, photographs, manpower records, delivery dockets, inspection records, test results, and commissioning documentation.
• Manage site logistics, including access roads, laydown areas, material storage, security, traffic management, housekeeping, temporary power, and site amenities.
• Communicate project progress, risks, variations, delays, defects, and site conditions to the Project Manager.
• Support project closeout by coordinating punch-list works, final inspections, testing, commissioning, as-built documentation, training, and asset handover.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Current Electrical Licence is essential.
• Current Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) and CPR training are essential.
• High Voltage Switching certification and Certificate of Registration (CoR), or equivalent authorised-person qualifications, are required.
• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, Site Superintendent, Foreman, or similar site-based leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering utility-scale solar farms, renewable-energy projects, substations, transmission infrastructure, or major electrical construction projects.
• Experience supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, HV equipment, and associated electrical infrastructure.
