The Role

We are looking for a proactive and technically minded Business Developer to join our growing team in the Czech Republic.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a technical construction background who enjoys building client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to contract award.

The successful candidate will help develop our business across post-tensioning solutions, structural repairs and preservation works, working closely with clients, designers and our operational teams to deliver technically robust and commercially competitive solutions.

Main Responsibilities

Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across structural repair and preservation projects.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.

• Monitor market activity and identify upcoming projects and tender opportunities.

• Represent VSL at industry events, seminars and technical presentations to promote our specialist capabilities.

Technical & Commercial Support

• Prepare technical proposals, budgets and tender submissions.

• Develop commercially competitive solutions tailored to client requirements.

• Assist with the preparation and negotiation of client and subcontractor contracts.

• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors during the tendering process.

Project Collaboration

• Work closely with the production and delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from tender to project execution.

• Gather project feedback and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.

• Maintain strong communication between commercial and operational teams throughout project delivery.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline (ČVUT, VUT or equivalent).

• 2–5 years' experience within the construction industry.

• Previous experience in structural repairs, preservation works, post-tensioning or main contracting would be an advantage.

• Good understanding of construction methods and technical documentation.

• Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals is desirable.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, Word and MS Project.

• Fluent Czech language skills with a good command of English.
