We are excited to be recruiting for the Rebuild USVI – St. Thomas Educational Facilities Bundle 2 project, a transformative initiative modernizing five school campuses and one administration building across St. Thomas. Funded through FEMA and in partnership with the U.S. Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery, this project will create resilient, future-ready educational spaces – from innovative classrooms to gyms designed as hurricane shelters – giving our team the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The MEP Manager will lead the effort in coordinating and managing the MEP trades of the project while working with the team to ensure successful completion of all MEP trade works. This position is based in St. Thomas, USVI.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Estimate and scope MEP trades during pre-construction
  • Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the MEP trades
  • Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout detailed schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading
  • Review and approval material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation
  • Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & Owner
  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures relevant to the mechanical/electrical and plumbing engineering
  • Develops and reviews designs for mechanical/electromechanical, HVAC electrical and plumbing systems
  • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study
  • Over 10 years of experience in construction or MEP
  • Good understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
  • General understanding of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes
  • Experience in dealing with MEP subcontractors
