We are currently recruiting for a Senior Surveyor (Aerial Surveys) to join a major joint venture between Bouygues Travaux Publics and J. Murphy & Sons, supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced surveying professional to take a leadership role managing a section of engineering survey works, with a focus on aerial surveys, while leading and developing a team of surveyors. This role will play a key part in ensuring survey operations are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with project and client standards.
In this role, we are looking for someone who can manage survey teams, oversee survey delivery from request through to final data and reporting, and work closely with project managers, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with design, programme, and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing all survey requirements from request through to delivery
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with design and project standards
• Managing safety, programme, cost, and environmental risks within your area
• Producing survey RAMS, procedures, and technical reports
• Presenting survey data for pre-pour and as-built requirements
• Coordinating with project managers, site teams, designers, and subcontractors
• Ensuring survey data is processed, analysed, and recorded correctly
• Attending production and planning meetings as required
Key competencies I’m looking for:
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to manage multiple survey teams
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to develop processes, strategy, and improve survey delivery methods
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Collaborative approach with teams, client, and supply chain
To be successful, you’ll typically have a degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics or similar, significant experience in engineering surveying within heavy civil engineering projects, and experience managing survey teams, control networks, 3D models, laser scanning, and as-built reporting processes. Working towards or holding professional membership such as RICS or CICES would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior role within a major infrastructure project, where you will lead teams, influence survey strategy, and play a key role in successful project delivery.
