About the Role
As an Environmental Advisor your role would be to guide the Operation team to minimize ecological impacts and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. They act as subject matter experts, overseeing audits, managing environmental management plans (EMPs), and providing actionable advice to mitigate risks like pollution, waste, and contamination.
- Well-developed understanding of project environmental requirements
- Erosion and sediment control experience
- Environmental monitoring experience (Noise, Vibration, Water quality)
- A methodical approach and have a high attention to detail
- A proven ability to provide leadership in environmental planning and approval process;
- Ability to develop, nurture and maintain sound relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrated ability to respond quickly, investigate and provide solutions to environmental issues and problems proactively as they arise.
- Team oriented, accountable and results driven
- Good communication skills, including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
- Ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced operational environment with multiple and competing demands
- Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and utilise new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology
- Proactively seek to continuously improve performance, deliverables and work efficiencies including support for team members
- Display a positive approach to safety, environmental and quality considerations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s in environmental engineering, Science or equivalent
- 2 years+ Experience preferably on Major Infrastructure projects
- Ability to form strong relationships with multifaceted site teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong client relationship skills
