In this role you will provide comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted partner to managers and employees. This role delivers high quality advice on HR policies, employee relations, performance, recruitment, and people development, ensuring compliance with legislation and alignment with organisational and Project goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
- Provide timely, accurate advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Support and guide managers through informal and formal processes including performance, disciplinary, grievance, and absence management.
- Conduct or support investigations and prepare documentation for hearings or case reviews.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with managers to promote fair and consistent people practices.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Partner with managers to define role requirements and support end‑to‑end recruitment activities.
- Review job descriptions, support shortlisting, and participate in interviews when required.
- Support onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Performance & Development
- Coach managers on effective performance management, objective‑setting, and feedback conversations.
- Identify development needs and collaborate with L&D to deliver training solutions.
- Help track performance cycles and ensure compliance with deadlines and documentation.
HR Policies & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping in HR systems.
- Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and data insights to support decision-making.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to HR projects such as engagement initiatives, diversity, equity and inclusion, culture programmes, and process enhancements.
- Bring forward ideas to improve employee experience and operational effectiveness.
- Support change management activities linked to organisational updates or restructuring.
- Support on events coordination
Stakeholder Partnership
- Liaise with HR Shared Services, the Learning and Development team and other stakeholders to ensure smooth HR operations.
- Provide coaching and support to managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified to degree level and hold a relevant professional certificate from an accredited organisation such as the CIPD.
- Solid experience in a HR management position, ideally within the Construction or Infrastructure Sector, including providing advice and support to managers.
- Strong understanding of the recruitment, learning and development, performance and talent management, benefits, payroll and other HR functions.
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing ER cases from start to finish.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders. Expected to lead the HR agenda, managing diverse personalities and viewpoints. Consequently, emotional intelligence, the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is vital.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
- Digitally savvy with an understanding of LMS, MS Teams, MS Office and other tools.
- Commercial acumen – Supporting the strategic decision-making within the business as an influencer. Being able to understand company finances, resourcing and the ultimate aim of the project is important.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed project environment.
- Familiarity with HR systems, reporting tools, and data analysis.
