Specialists in civil engineering and complex structures, delivering major infrastructure and land-use projects worldwide. As part of Bouygues Travaux Publics, we are committed to sustainable construction, diversity, and welcoming talent from all backgrounds.

Project

The Lower Thames Crossing is one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes, linking Kent and Essex via the longest road tunnel in the country.

Delivered by VSL International Ltd as part of the Bouygues Construction group, we are undertaking critical enabling works at the north portal in Tilbury, including diaphragm walls, soil mixing, and piling all essential to the successful delivery of the project.

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint multiple Site Engineers to support the delivery of complex ground engineering and deep foundation works on the Lower Thames Crossing:

🔹 3 x Site Engineers – Soil Mixing
🔹 4 x Site Engineers – Deep Foundations (piling / diaphragm wall)

Working closely with the Project and Engineering teams, you will coordinate on-site engineering activities across a range of specialist techniques, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with design, quality, and programme requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a large-scale, technically complex geotechnical package within a major infrastructure project.

Coordination & Documentation

  • Work closely with subcontractors, supervisors, and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports and QA documentation
  • Support procurement activities, including scope preparation and subcontractor coordination

  • Build strong working relationships across site teams and stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of site processes and delivery
